Acrylic-based paints are soluble in water, but it dries fast and turns resistant to water. Acrylic-based color is usually a composition of coloring and pigments.

Now let us shift our focus on how to remove these classes of paints comfortably. I will take you through several steps on how to remove the various paints, starting with acrylic-based paint.

Acrylic-based paint removal

Ingredients; mask and gloves, acetone, wet vacuum, commercial carpet cleaning solution, used rags, toothbrush, and laundry detergent is one of the best ways to remove paint from carpet

Step 1: Dampen the surface

Wear masks and gloves and use an old wet rag to dampen the paint spot but avoid scrubbing it.

Step 2:Add laundry detergent

Add not more than one tablespoon of laundry detergent to the rag. Scrub the paint to loosen it, awaiting the other processes.

Step 3:Add acetone

Add acetone on a different place on the same rag, but do not mix it with the laundry detergent. Scrub the paint area with the acetone until the stain disappears.

Acetone is harmful to your health, and you should make sure the room has enough aeration.

Step 4: Scrub with a commercial carpet cleaner

This step is applicable if acetone fails to get rid of the paint. Scrub the paint patch with a commercial carpet cleaner and ensure they do not come into contact with acetone. Scrub the area lightly using a toothbrush.

Step 5: Vacuum the remains

A commercial carpet cleaner usually is effective in absorbing the paint. Use a wet vacuum to complete your job. Repeat the five-step process if there is still some visible paint patches.

Oil-based paint removal

Ingredients; clean rags, paper towel, turpentine, putty knife, steamer, dish washing detergent, and bowl

Step 1: scrap the paint spill

Try inserting your putty knife below the oil spill to lift it when it is still wet. If you manage to lift the paint, put it in a container or bowl and avoid scrubbing the remaining stain.

You can use a carpet steamer to soften the paint if it is dry.

Step 2:Blot the spill

Using a clean rag or clothing, blot the paint spot until your rag can no longer absorb more paint.

Step 3: Add turpentine

The third step is where your safety gloves come in handy while handling turpentine. Turpentine is a solvent that is effective for separating paint from any fabric.

Add turpentine on a towel and start dabbing the paint surface.

Step 4:Rinse the area

Mix two cups of water and a tablespoon of dish washing detergent for wiping out turpentine. Submerge a clean rag in the solution and dampen the spill until there is no visible paint.

Finally, use a wet vacuum or paper towel to drain all fluids from your carpet.

Dry paint removal from your carpet

Ingredients; vinegar, warm water, putty knife, carpet steamer, nose pliers, paper towel and rags

Step 1: Try scrapping

Try to scrape the paint spill using a putty knife and nose pliers for the big paint spots.

Step 2: Soak and Vacuum

Add some warm water to the dry paint spot and leave it for about seven minutes to soften. Then vacuum the place continuously until there is no visible paint.

Step 3: Make a vinegar solution
